Utilizing more than three decades of industry experience, Mr. Lazar is a respected figure in the fields of military and engineering, having most recently served as a Global Hawk unmanned aircrafts systems integrated product team chief engineer at the Northrop Grumman Corporation from 2007 to 2013. Previously serving the corporation as a Global Hawk unmanned aircraft systems avionics integrated product team lead from 2006 to 2007 and chief engineer of the Global Hawk maritime demo from 2003 to 2006, he commenced his career with the company as a mechanical subsystems manufacturing engineer from 1995 to 1996.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Lazar served as a lieutenant commander, naval flight officer, radar intercept officer, aerospace engineering duty officer and weapons system acquisition manager from 1979 to 1981. Subsequent to these roles, he served as an F-14A radar intercept officer with Fighter Squadron 32 at the Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach from 1981 to 1985, having also acted as an F-14 Phoenix missile flight test project officer at the Pacific Missile Test Center at Point Mugu, CA, from 1985 to 1986. Alongside these roles, he served the Naval Aviation Depot at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia and the Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego County, CA, between 1989 and 1994.
A senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Mr. Lazar was the recipient of the Grumman Aerospace Corporation Scholarship in 1974. In recognition of his military career, he was decorated with numerous Individual and Strike Flight Air Medals by the United States Navy for combat action over Grenada and Lebanon. Highlighted in the 21st edition of Who’s Who in the East, Mr. Lazar holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
